VJ Vigas, a.k.a Lenadro Menezes, won the championship at the international VJ’s tournament Videozone in Poland; secured 1st place in 4 editions of the VJ TORNA International competition, held in Mexico, Italy, South Africa, and Turkey; and was awarded the 2019 EMMY Award as the protagonist of the series “Hack the City” created by National Geographic, among many other accolades.

Leston is a musician, artist, and multimedia developer based in São Paulo. In addition to his own artistic practice, he develops interactive, generative, and immersive projects for other artists, events, and institutions. Through a critical perspective, his work explores the tensions between art and technology, sound and visuality. For Leston, programming is not merely a tool but the language of the work itself, shaping its form and content.

Bianca Turner works across various mediums such as video, video art, video performances, video installations, expanded cinema, audiovisual actions, urban interventions, and video mapping. Her research delves into the idea of the archive being an imperialist imposition and explores the expansion of time-space through the use of audiovisual resources and video projection in relation to the human body.

With a narrative thread shaped by deconstructing documentary segments from materials available on the internet and the artists’ personal archives, Embolex recreates an audiovisual narrative that challenges the notion of the individual and “authorship” as something inherent. It is within this hybrid, intricate, and diverse dimension of reality, crafted through audiovisual manipulations and the layering of narratives that “tangle” the linear and singular understanding of truth, that the work takes place.

Craca presents, alone and isolated, an audiovisual occupation (or imagistic musician) setting things straight with full vigor. Hadn’t we turned the page of history? Indeed, we had… but upside down.
